Hosted by Bill Stevenson, Director of International Admissions and Student Services, John Brown University held its annual All-Sports Athletics Banquet on Wednesday evening (April 22) in the Simmons Great Hall, awarding year-end accolades and honoring all student-athletes for their academic and athletic achievements.

A second round score of 312 hampered an otherwise impressive outing by the John Brown men’s golf program, which finished in 10th of 11 teams this afternoon at the SAC Championships, held at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.

John Brown sophomore golfer Trevor Barton turned in a two-day total of 154, 10 over par, to help the Golden Eagles to an eighth-place finish at the Bear State Bank Invitational today at the Big Creek Country Club.

For the first time in program history, the John Brown men’s golf team hosted an event and fell just 15 shots shy of capturing the title as the Golden Eagles finished for second place in the one-day, 18-hole competition held at the Shadow Valley Golf and Country Club.

Despite added five shots to its card on day two of the Bethel (Kan.) Spring Invitational, the Golden Eagle men’s golf team managed to card a two-day 310-315-625 to capture a tie for sixth place out of the 19-team tournament field this evening at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club.

Led by a pair of strong starts from senior Sam Greenleaf and sophomore Trevor Barton, the Golden Eagles finished the first round in 11th place, but a difficult time in the second round secured 14th for John Brown at the NAIA Contender, held at the TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas.

John Brown University Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty announced today (Jan. 9) that Golden Eagles student-athletes posted a 3.10 grade-point average for the Fall 2014 semester and that seven of 11 programs earned GPAs over the 3.00 mark.

On Saturday (Dec. 6), the John Brown University Department of Athletics led 50 Girl Scouts in the "Happy Health Holiday" event in which JBU student-athletes modeled to Girl Scouts essential skills of various sports.
