    John Brown Announces Dissolution of Men’s Golf Program

    John Brown University formally announced this morning (Feb. 22) that it will eliminate the men’s golf program, effective at the end of the spring semester, reducing the number of its intercollegiate athletic programs to 10.

    John Brown University Named Champions of Character Gold Institution

    For the 14th-consecutive year, since the inception of the program, John Brown University has been recognized as a Champions of Character Five-Star Institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and on Monday (Sept. 14), JBU earned its first Gold-level nomination since the NAIA changed the classification system in 2013.

    Barton’s Second Round 70 Helps Men’s Golf Finish 12th

    Junior Trevor Barton carded a two-round 143 (73-70) to end day one of the U.C. Ferguson Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City, tied for third place and followed up the performance with a 75 in the final round to help the John Brown men’s golf team finish 12th in the 14-team field on Tuesday (Sept. 15).

    For the first time in Sooner Athletic Conference history, the league has announced a conference-wide All-Academic team, and John Brown has added 13 more honorees in winter and spring sports to its original total of 33 after fall competition.

    For the first time in Sooner Athletic Conference history, the league has announced a conference-wide Commissioner's Honor Roll, and John Brown University boasts the fourth-most total honorees with 77, league offices announced today (June 12).
